Eyelid surgery or “Blepharoplasty” is a correcting both medical and cosmetic surgery for upper lids, lower lids or both and usually it happens because of the weakening of eye muscles or genetics which lead to sagging upper eyelids or under eye bagginess. Sometimes with increasing age fatigued eye muscles loose folds in the eye lids and affects the beauty of eyes and face of the person besides impairing person’s vision. Also, eye bags in lower lids give a tiresome and dull appearance to the eyes and make a person look older than real age. For this purpose, Blepharoplasty improves puffy and droopy eyelids and eyelid depression and removes signs of ageing near the eyes by providing more youthful appearance. The procedure can also smooth wrinkles around the eyes, known as crow’s feet. These two procedures can be carried out either separately or combined depending on the problems patients deal with. Sometimes stretching out of the upper eyelid muscle may cause a drooping eyelid. This is called eyelid ptosis and requires a different surgical treatment. The appearance of a drooping upper lid may also be due to relaxation of the forehead skin and eyebrow. So, in order to achieve the best results, your surgeon may suggest you undergo a brow lift or a facelift at the same time.

Holding the second place just after rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty is one of the most common cosmetic procedures which bring back your charming look and facial youth.

Different Types of Blepharoplasty

  • Upper eye lid: As the name implies, it’s focused on the upper eyelid. This type of surgery can restore the function of the eye or provide a more rounded, open appearance. No one likes to look neurotic, lazy, doleful, or sleepy which Sagging upper eyelids result in them all. Incision and removal of this excess skin or muscle with great precision by high skilled surgeon gives you a more natural look.
  • Lower eye lid: It is a cosmetic surgery that targets and resolve underlying anatomical issues in and around the lower lids, ultimately creating a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
  • Cat eye: A canthoplasty alters the lateral canthus by tightening and elongating the eye horizontally by giving it a more almond shape and typically used to correct drooping eyes due to age. In this procedure the eye-shape goals are subtle and should not be hyper noticeable.
  • Combination of these 3

Procedure of Eyelid Surgery

Nora Health Tour team usually arranges this surgery both of upper and lower eyelids done on an outpatient basis, under local anesthesia in day clinic and there is no need for hospitalization. Of course the surgery may be performed under general anesthesia, depending on the patient’s health condition and the surgeon’s diagnosis. In upper eyelids small stitches or tissue adhesives may be opened after three to six days and depending on the technique used the lower lids may or may not require stitches. Procedure Duration is about 90-120 minutes.
