Informative Guide
Follow-Up
Every year, millions of people travel abroad for medical treatments and cosmetic surgery. They often choose medical tourism to access high-quality care at affordable prices, avoid long waiting lists, or find treatment options that may not be readily available in their home countries. However, one important concern remains: post-surgery care and follow-up after returning home.
At Nora Health Tour, we understand that a successful medical journey involves more than choosing the right surgeon, hospital, and treatment. Recovery and follow-up care also play an important role. That is why we help coordinate post-surgery support throughout your stay in Iran and, depending on your treatment plan, after you return to your home country. From hospital admission to discharge and recovery at your hotel, we help coordinate the support you need. This may include nursing care during hospitalization, caregiver assistance at your accommodation when necessary, and communication with your medical team throughout the recovery process.
Our support can also continue after you return home. Depending on your procedure and individual needs, follow-up coordination may extend for up to one year. Our team can check in with you regularly and help coordinate communication with your treating healthcare professionals to support continuity of care. Some surgical procedures, particularly cosmetic surgeries, require follow-up over several months. However, recovery times and follow-up schedules vary from patient to patient, so your surgeon will recommend the appropriate care plan.
At Nora Health Tour, we aim to make your medical journey more comfortable and organized by helping you stay connected with your care team before, during, and after your treatment in Iran. Your care journey does not have to end when you leave Iran. To learn more about how we coordinate your medical trip, explore our medical travel process or contact Nora Health Tour.

Recovery and Follow-Up Care at Your Residence
If you need additional care during your recovery at the hotel, Nora Health Tour can help arrange a qualified nurse based on your needs and with your agreement. This support can help you feel more comfortable while you recover after treatment. Our support team will also stay in contact with you to help coordinate your needs and make your recovery period as smooth as possible. When appropriate and with your consent, we can facilitate communication between you and your treating medical team, helping ensure that relevant updates about your recovery are shared with your healthcare professionals.
Post-Surgery Doctor Appointments
After surgery and hospital discharge, your surgeon may schedule a follow-up appointment to assess your recovery and check for any signs of complications. Depending on your procedure and healing progress, the doctor may remove stitches, change or remove a cast or medical splint, and provide essential instructions for your continued recovery. If your surgeon determines that you are medically fit to travel, they may also provide the necessary medical clearance for your return flight.
Nora Health Tour helps coordinate your follow-up appointment and transportation between your hotel and the doctor’s office. We can also help arrange suitable accommodation through our medical travel packages. If your follow-up requires coordination with a hospital or clinic, you can learn more about the hospitals and clinics we work with. If needed, we can arrange a translator to accompany you to your appointment, helping you communicate clearly with your surgeon and understand your post-operative instructions. A Safe and Comfortable Journey Home
Your health and safety remain our priorities throughout your medical journey. Before your departure, Nora Health Tour helps coordinate with your surgeon and the hospital’s International Patient Department (IPD) team to review your recovery progress and discuss any precautions you may need to take before flying.
Your surgeon must determine whether you are medically fit to fly. The appropriate waiting period depends on the type of surgery, your recovery, and your individual health needs. Some procedures require a longer recovery period before air travel. You can also read the UK government’s guidance on medical treatment abroad and returning home for additional travel considerations. If your treating doctor confirms that you are fit to travel and a medical clearance letter is required, we can help coordinate the necessary documentation with the hospital. Our team can also assist with departure arrangements and transportation to the airport.
Follow-Up Care After Returning Home
We understand that recovering in your home country can feel challenging when you are far from your medical team, especially when language barriers make communication more difficult. At Nora Health Tour, we help you stay connected with your healthcare providers so you can navigate your recovery with greater confidence and peace of mind. After your treatment in Iran, we can provide you with a contact channel for follow-up support. If you have questions or need help communicating with your surgeon, our team can help coordinate communication with your treating medical team so you can receive appropriate guidance from the professionals familiar with your case.
Depending on your treatment plan and individual needs, we can also arrange periodic follow-ups to check on your recovery and help you communicate any concerns to your healthcare providers. Your surgeon or other qualified medical professionals should guide any recommendations about nutrition, physical activity, wound care, and other post-operative instructions. Our support does not have to end when you leave Iran. We aim to make your medical journey more connected and organized by helping you maintain contact with your care team after returning home.
Medical Records and Documents
As an international patient, you should have access to the medical records related to your treatment in Iran. Nora Health Tour can help coordinate the preparation of available medical documents in English, such as medical reports, test results, and letters from your treating doctor, so you can share them with your healthcare provider after returning home. The availability and format of documents may depend on the hospital or clinic and your treatment. Choosing to receive medical care in another country can feel overwhelming. Beyond arranging appointments and travel, you may need reliable support to help you understand the process, communicate with healthcare providers, and navigate unfamiliar procedures. Although you may arrange treatment independently or through a travel agency, a dedicated medical tourism coordinator can help organize the different parts of your journey and make communication easier.
At Nora Health Tour, we help coordinate your medical journey from the initial planning stages through treatment and post-treatment follow-up. Our services may include assistance with appointments, hospital coordination, accommodation, transportation, and communication with your healthcare team. We aim to make your experience in Iran more organized and reassuring while helping you stay informed about your treatment arrangements and patient rights.
